once again for the 3rd time in 5 years my favorite baseball team the s.f.

giants are headed to the world series !

so who do you think will win this years series and your reasons for your predictions ?

It's going the distance!

At least the Royals don't have to worry about Baumgarner anymore, though he did say he was available to pitch if needed. I just can't see them using him for more than an inning on only 2 days rest.

No. I live with less fear now then when I was a witness. I no longer see the entire world as a cesspool of evil that I need to be protected from.

What Is The Fate Of Adam and Eve? And Will John the Baptist See Heaven?

at one point, didn't the society teach that adam and eve either would not be resurrected or, if so, they would not attain the kingdom of heaven?

i remember that a number of years ago, a jw told me that john the baptist also would not obtain eternal life in the kingdom of heaven.

their evidence was matthew 11:11, where jesus says, "verily i say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than john the baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.".

JW attitudes to women

i would be very interested to hear from you ladies on this one.

i know that the society keeps women in subjugation through the headship cr@p but didn't ahve any sense about hoew prehistoric the attitudes are until the other day when we were driving out of the supermarket car park and my wife spotted a woman dressed in tight shorts (it has been very hot here) and she commented 'they say that women who dress like that dserve to be raped'.

i did a wtf and overreacted 'how can you blame the victim like that - such attitudes give men a lciense to commit rape and make women feel they are to balme if they get raped which in turn means that rape doesn't get reported and it gopes on with impunity.

One of my final "wake-up" moments was when a bunch of us brothers got called to the back room and counselled for not doing enough to reach out for ministerial servant positions, because there was such a shortage. I remember the elder saying that it was a slap in the face to the sisters who were doing more, and could be ministerial servants if only they were men. And I remember thinking to myself, why should that prevent them, especially if they were meeting the qualifications, and there was such a demand for qualified servants. I was well into my fade at the time, and it just helped confirm to me that wasn't the 'truth'.

Would you convert to a religion for love?

i am sure people convery to a religion to find peace and spiritual awakening.

i also bet many convert simply for love.

would you to assist " true love" if it required converting to a particular faith?.

No. I wouldn't consider it 'love' if there were such a huge condition attached to it.

this was becoming too embarrassing for them and they suddenly became pressed for time.

It always amazes me how pressed for time they become whenever they get challenged. Watching them in the ministry, you'd never guess they were in such a hurry.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the only people who don't practice war and who preach worldwide!

this is what somebody has been telling me, trying to convince me aside from anything one can say or cause reason for doubt, as the evidence that they are the true religion and true people of god.

they are convinced because while 'all other' christian and other religions support war, troops, etc, jw's don't and they are the only one's who carry god's name and preach.

nothing else matters.

They just wait for their god to wipe out the billions of people on earth who don't think and act like them. I guess they're more partial to mass genocide.

A friend of mine from work went to a JW funeral and got called on shortly afterward, out in the ministry. Apparently his wife had a conversation with someone at the funeral, which they mistook for interest in their religion. They then proceeded to get their names and address off of the guest registry.

True story. You can't make this shit up.
